As we move from the global tumult caused by Covid 19 to the global tumult being caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the global packaging sector has proven resilient and vibrant while continuing to consolidate across substrates. What happened in 2021 and, most importantly, what is happening in 2022 and beyond with rising input prices, labour shortage, inflation, growing ESG requirements and rising interest rates is top of mind. We’ll provide our perspective on the ever-evolving environment and what it might mean for you.
On the pulse of the transactions market for 30+ years, Ken is an EY Canada Partner who leads EY’s corporate finance practice in Québec.
Together with his team, Ken provides full-service transaction advisory support that spans mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring and joint ventures for both established and entrepreneurial growth companies. He’s led engagements in the public and private sector, and advised on more than 150 transactions in Canada, and around the world. Ken has a special focus on clients in the manufacturing sector, and regularly shares perspectives as a keynote speaker on consolidation within the plastics and packaging industries as EY’s global M&A leader for these industries.
Ken’s actively involved in supporting the next generation of business leaders both at EY, and in the broader community. From 2014 to 2019, he was Chairman of the Board for the John Molson School of Business MBA International Case Competition. He’s currently a Governor on Concordia University’s Board of Governors where he presides as a member of the Audit Committee and Chair of the Finance Committee. He is also Chairman of the Advisory Board for Concordia’s John Molson School of Business. He also served three-year terms on EY Canada’s Partner Forum and EY Canada’s Strategic Growth & Investment Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, and a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University.

This session will highlight the importance of packaging in helping to improve food sustainability and the role of the food industry in supporting sustainable farming practices.
Orlando oversees FoodShare’s food growing projects across the city – turning under utilized schoolyards, hydro corridors, and parks into vibrant and productive urban farms and community gardens. Orlando is passionate about food justice, and community leadership, and provides lots of resources and support for communities to design, implement, and run their own growing and composting projects. He is a trained agronomist with an incredible depth of knowledge in all aspects of growing food.
Kevin is the Nutrition team lead and developed the Sustainable Diets initiative for General Mills exploring the intersection between nutrition, agriculture, and packaged foods. Kevin is the current Chair of the Whole Grain Initiative, a global team of academic and industry scientist working to improve public health through healthier dietary lifestyles.
